AUSEV and Sigenergy have joined forces in a strategic alliance to launch one of Australia’s most exciting energy innovations to date with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology now becoming a reality for Australian consumers. By integrating Sigenergy’s advanced charging and inverter system with AUSEV’s powerful F-150 Lightning, Australians will be able to send electricity from their vehicles back to the grid, lower their power bills, and maintain energy independence during outages. Currently, Sigenergy’s DC charger is available for use now, with bi-directional charging only approved on Essential Energy’s network, although plans are underway to be approved on other networks.
This collaboration marks a major step forward in making energy smarter, more flexible, and more accessible. The partnership will drive down energy costs, accelerate electric vehicle adoption, and introduce cutting-edge, real-world solutions to the Australian market.
With this new capability, consumers will be able to export power to the grid during peak demand, power their homes during blackouts, and even generate income through energy trading when combined with the Sigenergy battery system. The F-150 Lightning, with its substantial 131kWh battery, becomes not just a workhorse on the road, but a fully functioning energy asset at home or on the worksite.
As one of the only vehicles in the market currently offering this functionality, the AUSEV F-150 Lightning is the first in Australia to be successfully tested on Sigenergy’s V2G system.
Will Hall, Managing Director of Sigenergy Australia and New Zealand, says the partnership is about turning innovation into impact.
“At Sigenergy, innovation means nothing if it doesn’t translate into real-world benefits. By commercialising bi-directional charging, we’re creating new possibilities for a smarter, more resilient energy grid and giving Australians more control over how they consume and contribute power,” Hall said.
BOSSCAP Group the parent company of AUSEV, CEO Edward Kocwa believes the benefits for customers are transformational.
“The F-150 Lightning is already an exceptional vehicle, but with V2G capability, it becomes a mobile power station. Its large battery means it can support homes or even small buildings during outages, and with Sigenergy’s system, owners can use their vehicles to reduce energy costs in meaningful ways. This is the future of energy—and it’s available now.”
Together, AUSEV and Sigenergy are not just talking about the future—they’re delivering it.
AUSEV will also be at the AFMA show being held in Sydney on Tuesday the 20th – Wednesday the 21st of May, along with Sigenergy who will have a demo unit on display.
