Onshore manufacturing of Fenris UGV will strengthen the region’s sovereign capability by enhancing safety, efficiency and performance
AUSEV has joined forces with US-based robotics company, Crow Industries, to bring the revolutionary Fenris Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) to Australia – marking a major leap forward in autonomous robotics for both the defence and mining industries.
Under this partnership, AUSEV will serve as the exclusive distributor of the Fenris UGV across Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific region, while Advanced Manufacturing Queensland will locally re-manufacture the vehicles at its state-of-the-art facility in Queensland. This collaboration strengthens Australia’s sovereign capability by enabling onshore production of world leading autonomous systems.
“This partnership is a natural extension of AUSEV’s commitment to delivering the latest in AI-driven vehicle technologies to key strategic sectors,” said Brendan Kenny of AUSEV. “With our track record in homologation, local manufacturing, and deep relationships across the mining industry, we’re proud to help introduce this next-gen technology to the region.”
The Fenris UGV is engineered to operate autonomously in complex and remote environments, from gathering critical geological data in mineral exploration zones to undertaking support roles in modern battlefield scenarios. Featuring swarm capabilities and advanced AI, the platform is designed to enhance safety, efficiency, and performance.
“Australia’s vast and demanding environments make it the perfect proving ground for the next generation of autonomous systems,” said James Crowell, Founder and CEO of Crow Industries. “By partnering with AUSEV, we gain not only a trusted ally with deep local expertise but also the ability to accelerate onshore development and scale at a pace that matches the region’s ambitions. Together, we are laying the foundation for sovereign, world-leading autonomous ground vehicle solutions that will transform both defence and mining operations.”
This strategic collaboration underscores both companies’ shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and building sovereign industrial capability in advanced robotics and strengthening Australia’s position as a regional leader in autonomous systems.
